Concert tickets are one thing I can’t help but spend money on. Since I have been living in LA, I’ve gone to four concerts within six months. Last semester I saw Ed Sheeran and The 1975 (both for the second time). This summer I have plans to see Ed Sheeran (third time’s the charm, right?) and Taylor Swift (again). Needless to say, I am addicted.
A few weeks ago I saw Sam Smith at the Forum and it may have been my favorite concert thus far. My friend and I got general admission floor tickets and arrived super early to be close to the stage. We were about five people back from the front and I have no words to describe it. Sam Smith is one of those artists who sounds even better live than he does on his album, and that is something else. He was also one of the kindest, most well spoken artists I have seen, but maybe I am biased because I just really love Sam Smith. His voice is incredible and he put on a great show. I would see him again in a heartbeat, and if you ever have the chance, GO. I also met Taylor Lautner afterward, which I have to say was a pretty cool bonus.
A couple weeks later I went to the Ben Howard Concert at the Shrine Auditorium. The show was entirely general admission and despite arriving later than expected, my friends and I managed to get near the front. Ben Howard is immensely talented, both vocally and on the guitar. It was a more laid-back atmosphere from Sam Smith, but nonetheless an awesome show. If you haven’t had the chance, definitely go check out his music.
I will keep you all updated as my concert obsession continues. Also, a hint for the Ed fans out there: tickets for his new 2015-2016 tour came out this past week, so get on them ASAP if you are interested… I’ll be at the San Francisco show! Another note: I apologize for the lack of posts lately, it’s midterm season and I have been crazy busy. There are more posts coming your way soon!
